PEARL RIVER–A 21-year-old New Jersey man was charged with drunken driving after he was stopped for speeding in Pearl River, according to Orangetown police.
Police said Liam C. Fox of 56 Glenwood Ave., Demarest, N.J., was stopped at 1:16 a.m. Saturday after the 2006 Volvo he was driving was spotted traveling at 74 mph in a 55 mph zone on Route 304 in Pearl River. Police said that Fox appeared intoxicated and failed field sobriety tests.
Fox was charged with driving while intoxicated and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, both misdemeanors, unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, and several traffic violations. He faces a hearing in Orangetown Town Court on July 15.
ORANGEBURG – A New Jersey man stopped for driving erratically on the Palisades Interstate Parkway in Orangeburg has been charged with drunken driving, according to Orangetown Police.
Police said Stanley Uzar, 37, of 12 Echo Hill Road, Montvale, N.J., was stopped at 10 p.m. on Thursday when the 2012 Ford Expedition he was driving was seen moving erratically on the parkway. Police said that after an investigation, Uzar was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. He faces a hearing in Orangetown Town Court on July 15NYACK – A 25-year-old Monsey man was charged with drunken driving early Sunday after he was stopped for driving erratically on High Avenue in Nyack, according to Orangetown police.
Police said Alexander Steinmetz of 1 Hilltop Lane, Monsey, was stopped at 5:03 a.m. Sunday when a town officer spotted him in a 2013 Nissan Altima driving erratically and without his headlights on. Police said that when Steinmetz was questioned he appeared intoxicated and then failed field sobriety tests.
Steinmetz was taken to Orangetown police headquarters in Orangeburg, where police said he failed a chemical breath test for alcohol. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and faces a July 29 hearing in Nyack Village Court.
