Former longtime funeral director of TJ McGowan Funeral Home in Haverstraw Donald Cranston was indicted recently on charges of grand larceny in the second degree for allegedly stealing $200,000 from the funeral home over a 40-month period between 2010 and 2013.
District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that Cranston would purposely not report services rendered to the company and instead divert the payments to his personal bank account.
This week Cranston pleaded not guilty to the charges. He was originally arrested this past September.
