NEW SQUARE – Four teens from Clarkstown and Orangetown were arrested early on Sunday after they allegedly pelted residents with eggs and shouted obscenities as they drove through the ultra-orthodox enclave of New Square.

Police identified two of the teens, Daniel Brophy of Pearl River, 19, and Catherine Donnelly, 19, of Nanuet, as suspects. Two other unnamed, 18-year old males riding as passengers have also been arrested.

The suspects were apprehended by police after over 100 residents packed streets after the attack, forming a human wall around a 2014 Toyota Corolla driven by Brophy. No injuries or property damage were reported as a consequence of the egging.

All four teens have been charged with second-degree aggravated harassment, a misdemeanor which takes into account harassment based on race, religion, gender and sexual preference but does not rise to the severity of a hate crime.
