A St. Patrick’s Day neighbor dispute led to the arrest of a 64-year-old Stony Point man on charges that he slashed his neighbor with a knife, according to Stony Point Police.
Police said Everard Bernard of 11 Spring St., Stony Point, was charged with second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon today after an investigation of an incident on Thursday. In that incident, police said, a verbal dispute escalated when Bernard used a knife to slash a neighbor on the inner portion of his right forearm.
The victim was treated by emergency medical personnel but refused further medical treatment, police said.
