Stony Point:

Windshield Smashed

wsOn Aug. 21, 2016 the Stony Point Police Department arrested Karin E. Neyra, 41, of Haverstraw, New York for third-degree criminal mischief. Neyra was arrested following an investigation where she allegedly intentionally damaged a windshield by smashing it out with a large rock after a brief verbal and physical dispute. She was arrested, processed and ROR’d on an appearance ticket returnable at 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 6, 2016.

Missing Wheelchair

On Tuesday Aug. 16, 2016 at approximately 5:15 p.m. a maroon wheelchair was taken from the end of a driveway in the area of Cross Street and Miller Drive in Stony Point. Whoever took the wheelchair may have thought it was at the curb as refuse, however it was not. Anyone having information about the missing wheelchair is asked to contact the Stony Point Police Department at 845-786-2422.

Orangetown:

Teens Caught with Narcotics

On Aug. 20, 2016 at approximately 7:00 p.m. the OPD arrested a 17-year-old female from Pearl River, New York and a 16-year-old female from Tappan, New York for petit larceny, fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, all misdemeanors. The females allegedly stole a bottle of whiskey from a store in Pearl River and each were found to be in possession of Dilaudid, a narcotic pain medication. Each female was released on an appearance ticket and is to appear in the Town of Orangetown Justice Court at 6:00 p.m. on Sept. 21, 2016.

 

Jersey Man Arrested for Drug Possession

On Aug. 17, 2016 at approximately 3:21 a.m. an OPD officer arrested Dean Dasilva, 35, of Bloomfield, New Jersey, for seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument, both misdemeanors, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. Dasilva was an occupant in a motor vehicle that was stopped on North Highland Avenue in Nyack, New York. A police investigation discovered he possessed three vials of Deca-Durabolan, an anabolic steroid, a small quantity of powdered cocaine, multiple hypodermic instruments, a quantity of marijuana and a small electronic scale. Dasilva was arrested and transported to the OPD Headquarters for processing. He posted cash bail and is due to return to the Nyack Justice Court on Sept. 15, 2016.

Male Arrested for Trespassing

On Aug. 16, 2016 at approximately 1:43 a.m. an OPD officers arrested Charles F. Kenney, 37, of Nyack, New York for seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, unlawful possession of marijuana and trespassing, both violations. He was seen trespassing on Spear Street in Nyack and following a police investigation found to be in possession of two glassine envelopes of heroin and a quantity of marijuana. Kenney was transported to the OPD Headquarters for processing and posted cash bail. He is due to return to Nyack Justice Court on Sept. 20, 2016.

Intoxicated Woman Found Unconscious in Car

On Monday Aug. 15, 2016 at approximately 1:04 p.m. the OPD arrested Mary Clifford-Mcintyre, 42, of Pearl River, New York for DWI, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, all misdemeanors. Officers responded to Blue Hill Plaza for reports of an unresponsive person inside a motor vehicle. Responding officers found Clifford-Mcintyre unresponsive, sitting behind the steering wheel with the engine running. She was evaluated and cleared by medical personnel on the scene. She failed field sobriety tests at the scene and was transported to the OPD Headquarters where she was found to be in possession of allegedly controlled substance pills. A DMV check showed Clifford-Mcintyer’s driver’s license had been suspended in New York. She was processed and arraigned in the Orangetown Justice Court, where she was released on her own recognizance and turned over to a sober party.

Suffern:

Suffern PD & County SWAT Prevent Suicide  

The Suffern Police Department received a call regarding a distraught man threatening his own life and claimed he had guns in his apartment at the Berkeley Square Apartments on Route 202. The Suffern PD evacuated residents in the building and secured the perimeter of the location with the Ramapo Police Department and Sheriff’s Patrol assisting. Contact could not be made with the veteran in question the Suffern PD contact the county SWAT team, which includes the Suffern PD, who arrived shortly. Due to the severity of the call, the team made entry through the front door and deployed a robot inside the apartment to relay video footage back to the SWAT team. The video showed the man was in possession of handguns but fortunately he was in good physical condition. After hours of negotiation the man surrendered around 5 a.m. without incident. He was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

Ramapo:

Fugitive Turns Himself In

On Monday Aug. 22, 2016 a 21-year-old male featured on the Ramapo Police Department’s fugitive Friday post turned himself in after learning it was on the department’s Facebook page. He was wanted for third-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal mischief.

Teen Arrested for Shoplifting

On Sunday Aug. 21, 2016 the Ramapo Police Department arrested a 17-year-old female from Ridgewood, New Jersey for petit larceny after she was observed shoplifting from a local retail business in Airmont. She was processed and released on bail with a future Airmont Justice Court date.

Smashed Car Door Window in Chestnut Ridge

On Aug. 20, 2016 the RPD received a report of larceny from a vehicle. The caller stated she parked her vehicle at the Children’s Park in Chestnut Ridge, New York. She explained when she returned to her car, she found the passenger door window smashed out and her purse was stolen. The RPD is investigating the incident and anyone with information is asked to call 845-357-2400.
