STONY POINT POLICE DEPARTMENT:
CRIMINAL CONTEMPT, HARASSMENT & RECKLESS DRIVING
Matthew Pinnock, age 19, residing at 8 Racatine Pl., Garnerville, NY, was arrested for criminal contempt in the first and second degree, harassment in the second degree, reckless driving and numerous vehicle and traffic violations. listed charges. The defendant was arrested following a warrant investigation. The defendant did attempt to elude the police when being stopped for traffic violation and warrant investigation. The defendant was taken into custody and arrested, processed and arraigned. He was later released on an appearance ticket returnable June 4, 2013 at 9 a.m. after posting $500 cash bail.
ASSAULT
Jean Vilbig, age 50, residing at 6 Cobble Pl., Blauvelt, NY, was arrested for assault in the third degree. The defendant was arrested following an investigation into a domestic dispute. It is alleged that the above defendant did cause a physical injury to a family member during said dispute. The defendant was arrested, processed and released on an appearance ticket returnable June 20, 2103 at 1:30 p.m. in the Stony Point Justice Court.
AGGRAVATED UNLICENSED OPERATION
Jose Reyes Ventura, age 28, residing at156 Coolidge St., Haverstraw, NY, was arrested on May 17, 2013 for aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree. The defendant was arrested after a vehicle and traffic stop revealed he was operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license for an insurance lapse. The defendant was arrested, processed and released on numerous traffic summonses returnable June 20, 2013 at 1:30 p.m.
AUO & OPERATING A MOTOR VEHICLE WITH SUSPENDED REGISTRATION
Jennitse M. Gonzalez, age 31, residing at 4 Knox St., West Haverstraw, NY, was arrested on May 15, 2013 for aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration. The defendant was arrested after a patrol vehicle equipped with a license plate reader indicated the vehicle the defendant was operating had a suspended registration. Subsequent to a vehicle and traffic stop and NYSDMV inquiry, it was verified that said registration was in fact suspended for insurance not in effect, and the defendant’s NYSDLIC was suspended x8 for failing to answer summonses. In addition, there were two outstanding bench warrants for the defendant out of the Town of Haverstraw on similar charges filed by the Rockland County Sheriff’s Patrol. The defendant was arrested, processed and issued numerous traffic summonses returnable June 12, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. The defendant posted $100 cash bail and was turned over to the RCSO to face charges on said warrants.

GRAND LARCENY & ISSUING A BAD CHECK
Yoel Silber, age 37, residing at 2 Lynhaven Drive, New City, NY, was indicted on May 17, 2013 by a Rockland County Grand Jury for the crimes of grand larceny in the fourth degree and issuing a bad check (10 counts). District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about February 6, 2012, the defendant deposited 10 checks into a Provident Bank account drawn upon two Citibank accounts , which he owned and had insufficient funds to cover the checks. Then, on February 6 and 7, 2012, the defendant was able to withdraw US currency from Provident Bank in an amount greater than $1,000 because of the deposited checks.
ASSAULT & CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF A WEAPON
Alex Sostre, age 46, residing at 358 Roosevelt Avenue, Spring Valley, NY, was indicted on May 17, 2013 by a Rockland County Grand Jury for the crimes of assault in the second degree (two counts) and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree. District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about April 23, 2013 at approximately at 12:05 a.m., the defendant approached victim and began to argue with him. During the argument the defendant punched the victim multiple times, pulled out a knife and began swinging the knife at the victim. The victim sustained a large laceration to his left wrist from a knife cut. The victim was treated at a local hospital. The police located the knife and the defendant was later arrested at a different location.
