DA’S PRESS RELEASE

Rockland County District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe on Friday announced that Dylan Lentini (DOB 11/10/96) of Vacaville, California was found guilty of Murder in the Second Degree, a class “A”Felony, in the killing of West Nyack resident Michael Wimbert.
“The defendant has been convicted of a violent and heinous crime,” said Zugibe. “This was an extremely brutal attack.”
On December 1, 2015, at approximately 1:45 a.m., while inside Michael Wimbert’s home, located at 68 Demarest Avenue, West Nyack, New York, Lentini violently attacked Michael Wimbert, stabbing him approximately thirty times; the wounds caused Michael Wimbert’s death.
Jury Selection on the trial began on September 13, 2016; testimony began on September 20, 2016.
Lentini has been held in the Rockland County Jail since his arrest. Sentencing is scheduled for November 29, 2016. His bail status continues as a remand. He faces a maximum of 25 years to life in state prison.
Executive Assistant District Attorney Dominic Crispino and Senior Assistant District Attorney Patrick Fischer prosecuted the case.
