Last week, the Ramapo Police Department responded to East Eckerson Road in the Town of Ramapo for the report of gunshots fired. Upon the officers arrival, evidence was recovered, indicating that at least 9 shots were fired from a passing vehicle. No victims were reported to have been struck and no one was injured. Through a continuing investigation, 2 suspects were arrested on Monday, November 25, 2024. Those two suspects, both males, aged 22 of Yonkers, N.Y. and aged 19, from Newburgh, N.Y. were charged with Attempted Murder 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 1st Degree, Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree and Conspiracy 2nd Degree. They were arraigned in the Town of Ramapo Court. The investigation is still ongoing, and no further details will be released at this time.
